Elgato’s Wave Go gives mobile creators a wireless clip-on microphone and a handheld interview mic in the same USD 99.99 kit. Announced on 13 October, the system includes a USB-C receiver and a Smart Handle that converts the small transmitter into a larger mic and charges it between shoots.

In its launch announcement, Corsair describes Wave Go as Elgato’s first wireless microphone. It extends the Wave range beyond desktop recording, with direct sales in more than 40 countries and regions and authorised retailers to follow. UAE pricing, stock, and a local release date remain unverified.

A clip-on mic that becomes an interview mic

The transmitter weighs 7g and attaches magnetically to clothing. Slotting it into the included Smart Handle changes the setup from hands-free recording to a mic an interviewer can hold. That gives the same kit two distinct uses without requiring a separate handheld microphone.

According to Elgato’s product specifications, Wave Go uses an omnidirectional electret condenser capsule and a 2.4GHz wireless connection, with a quoted range of around 30 metres and latency of 24ms or less. Bluetooth appears separately in the Wave Go app requirements.

The receiver connects over USB-C and supports pass-through phone charging. For creators who already use desktop equipment such as the Insta360 Link 2 Pro and Link 2C Pro webcams, the portable format serves a different job: capturing voices away from a fixed camera and desk.

Automatic processing and a charging handle

Elgato’s EQ Shift selects a sound profile for clip-on or handheld recording. Auto Gain, a limiter, and a low-cut filter manage voice levels and low-frequency rumble, while the system also offers noise cancellation. These features describe the available processing; they don’t indicate how well it handles a busy street or a loud exhibition hall.

Corsair quotes up to eight hours of transmitter use. The Smart Handle stores up to five full recharges, bringing the claimed combined runtime to 48 hours. That total assumes recharging between sessions, not 48 hours of uninterrupted recording. A ten-minute charge promises about an hour of use.

The kit includes the receiver, Smart Handle, carrying case, magnetic mounts, two furry windscreens, travel pouch, and USB-C charging cable. Wave Link and Stream Deck integration also connects it to Elgato’s desktop production tools. It’s a more mobile addition to Corsair’s hardware range than peripherals such as the Vanguard Air 99 Wireless keyboard.

Can Wave Go record two people?

Yes. The included kit has one transmitter, but Insider Gaming reports that a second can pair with the same receiver. Corsair lists the extra transmitter at USD 29.99, or USD 14.99 when bought with Wave Go on elgato.com.

Which operating systems does Wave Go support?

Elgato lists iOS 17, iPadOS 17, Android 8.0, Windows 11, and macOS 15 as the minimum versions. Its page also shows an “In review with Apple” notice, so buyers should check the app’s current status rather than assume every software feature is ready on day one.
