Dyson has unveiled the CameraJet, a toothbrush that uses a camera and a precision jet of mouthrinse to target the gaps between teeth.
The device, revealed by James Dyson in Paris on 1 September 2026, integrates Gap Optical Targeting powered by a 100k pixel macro lens and machine learning. It scans 28 images per second, detects gaps within 100 milliseconds and triggers a conical burst of mouthrinse to dislodge plaque while brushing.

Dyson’s system folds flossing and rinsing into brushing. The camera, trained on 470,000 dental images and running 16 million lines of code, remains active only during live viewing or auto-jetting; no images are stored.
The conical jet replaces the needle-type spray of traditional water flossers. Developed with proxy plaque tested in collaboration with the National University of Singapore, it sweeps away plaque more effectively while operating at lower pressure to spare gums and enamel. External testing claims it removes up to 69 per cent more plaque than leading sonic brushes in hard-to-reach areas.
An anti-gravity 12.5ml tank ensures consistent delivery in any orientation, avoiding the air pockets that plague conventional designs. A docking station refills the tank in three seconds and charges the device.
The brush head features dual bristles contoured to the tooth’s topography: firmer inner ones lift stains for whiter teeth; softer outer ones clean the gumline. Each head carries an RFID tag that tracks usage and signals when replacement is due. A sensitive variant is available.
Dyson has also formulated a non-foaming toothpaste and low-foaming mouthrinse without SLS to keep the camera’s view clear. Both contain sodium fluoride, phosphates and xylitol. Flavours are Ginger Mint, Spearmint and a Peppermint Sensitive option.
The handle connects to the MyDyson app via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, offering guided routines, coverage maps and personalised feedback. Users choose between auto-detect and manual jetting.
Pricing and UAE availability have not been confirmed at the time of writing. The device is positioned as a complete dental system that folds flossing and rinsing into the brushing step.
