What Is It About?
Jason Dessen is abducted into an alternate version of his life, and to get back to his true family he must save them from the most terrifying foe imaginable: himself. Adapted from Blake Crouch’s novel, the show’s trick is refusing to let that premise stay a gimmick — the box that opens onto parallel realities becomes a machine for interrogating every choice Jason made and every Jason he could have been. Season two picks up on the far side of that first abduction, with the family trying to pull the right version of him home.

This is a cast that earns its billing. Edgerton does the heavy lifting twice over, playing the warmth of Jason Dessen and the sharpened edges of Jason2 as two men distinct enough that you never lose track of whose side of the box you are on. Connelly’s Daniela anchors the emotional stakes as the person Jason is fighting to get back to, with Alice Braga’s Dr Amanda Lucas and Jimmi Simpson’s Ryan Holder returning alongside Dayo Okeniyi’s Leighton Vance and Oakes Fegley’s Charlie.
