Netflix confirmed the release date for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 at Anime NYC on Thursday: the sequel to the 2022 Studio Trigger series premieres October 20, 2026, and the announcement came with a new trailer.
The teaser — the third for the sequel — was shown during Netflix’s main-stage panel at the Javits Center, part of an anime slate that also covered Blue Eye Samurai, Sakamoto Days and LEGO One Piece. It recycles footage from earlier trailers, adds new shots, and, for the first time, dialogue. It closes on a promise: “Night City will burn again.”

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is a standalone, 10-episode story produced by CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger. Kai Ikarashi directs, taking over from Hiroyuki Imaishi — Ikarashi previously directed the first season’s standout episode, “Girl on Fire.”
The new crew:
- D, a nomad hunting revenge for his brothers in the Snake Nation clan — Koki Uchiyama (Japanese) and Nazeeh Tarsha (English)
- Weak Kingsley, a washed-up cyberpunk legend forced to live without chrome — Kentaro Tone and Clancy Brown
- Roman Carax, a young documentarian recording the chaos — Momoka Terasawa and Valeria Rodriguez
- Talia Yang, a heavily augmented runner tied to the Maelstrom gang — Akari Kitō and Kimoy Lee
Netflix describes the season as “a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge in a city that thrives on violence.” The synopsis sets up two threads: Weak’s search for purpose in a world that has passed him by, and D’s path towards corpo secrets never meant to be found. Anyone who watched the first season knows better than to get too attached.
