Marvel Studios unveiled a new Avengers: Doomsday poster at Comic-Con Málaga on 3 October, placing Doctor Doom in front of three masked figures identified in coverage as Latverian witches. The studio shared the artwork in its official post with the line, “Witching season has arrived.” The film is scheduled to open on 18 December 2026, according to Marvel’s official movie page.

A dramatic scene featuring a cloaked figure descending a grand staircase in a dark, gothic hall illuminated by green and yellow stained glass windows, with shadowy figures in the background, promoting a Marvel Studios project titled 'Doomsday' with a release date of December 18, 2026.

What the Avengers: Doomsday poster adds

The Avengers: Doomsday poster puts all three figures behind Doom, giving the masked trio a clear place in the film’s promotional imagery without showing who is under the masks. The poster does not name them or explain what they do in the story. IGN’s report and Polygon’s coverage both note that Marvel has not identified the characters.

Polygon says the poster adds no new plot information; its change is the trio’s prominent placement beside Doom.

Two masked Latverian witch costumes at Marvel’s July Comic-Con display

The Latverian witches remain unidentified

Marvel had already displayed Latverian witch costumes at San Diego Comic-Con in July, as IGN reported at the time. The new poster gathers the three figures around Doom, but it does not confirm whether they are allies, followers or opponents. Fan theories about familiar Marvel characters remain theories until the studio names them.

This is a visual clue about Doom’s company, not a character reveal. Marvel has also kept details close in its earlier promotion, including the first proper Avengers: Doomsday trailer, which introduced Doctor Doom without resolving the film’s remaining mysteries.

Can the witches be identified by their robe colours?

No. The poster gives the three figures different-coloured robes, but Marvel has not linked any colour to a named character. Online guesses remain unconfirmed.

Does the poster show the Latverian witches using magic?

No. The artwork shows the masked figures behind Doctor Doom but does not depict them casting a spell or demonstrate any abilities.
