Anthropic is in talks to buy Decart AI, the Nvidia-backed startup known for real-time video model Lucy, according to a source familiar with the matter. Bloomberg first reported the news, valuing a possible deal at about $6 billion.
Decart develops AI infrastructure and optimisation technology as well as its own models, and could help Anthropic absorb more demand as it prepares for its public listing. The deal is at an early stage; if completed, Decart’s team would join Anthropic’s inference and performance organisation. Reuters has the details.

Decart’s Lucy model can edit live video in real time. The startup has also built Oasis, a model that generates simulated environments to train and test robotics and autonomous-driving systems. It raised $300 million in May in a round led by Radical Ventures, with Nvidia joining as a new investor.
An Anthropic spokesperson declined to comment; Decart did not respond to a request for comment.
The move fits a pattern. Anthropic has been designing its own AI chips for Claude and hiring engineers to co-design custom hardware, all building toward the record $65 billion raise that set up its mega IPO. Buying Decart’s inference team and its real-time video work is the same strategy applied to talent.
