It has all the makings to be your next Android Smartphone.

Motorola unveiled their new Droid RAZR handset in the US yesterday, marrying two of their most successful products- the Droid and the RAZR. It may not necessarily be called Droid RAZR in the Middle East as Motorola has used Milestone branding in the region instead, but nevertheless, it will hopefully have all the features of it’s US counterpart. We take a look at five features that make the Droid RAZR a killer Android Smartphone.

1) Super thin

Measuring at an insanely thin 7.1mm, the Droid RAZR is the thinnest Smartphone out there today and is as impressive as the original RAZR was when first released in terms of thinness. Guaranteed to impress even the most die-hard Apple fanboy.

2) Amazing Display

Motorola has another first with a 4.3″ Super AMOLED display at qHD resolution. While we have seen Super AMOLED displays and qHD resolution screens, it’s the first time we them together which will definitely translate into a jaw dropping visual experience.

3) LTE Technology

LTE/4G is the future and we have already seen insane speeds that the Etisalat LTE network supports. We are really hoping that Motorola adds a 4G LTE radio in the device set to release in the region which will make the Droid RAZR one hell of device in terms of data transmission speeds.

4) Excellent Build Quality

The Droid RAZR is what happens when you put a gorilla glass in front and Kevlar Fiber on the back. Skinny does not translate into fragile when it comes to the Droid RAZR with all signs pointing to a solid device all over.

5) MotoCast

Often times, we find it hard to carry our entire photo or music library on our Smartphone and this is when Motocast comes in. Just install in on your home of office PC and it will stream pictures, documents and music straight to your device as long as you have a wireless connection.

Find out what's best about Google's latest version of Android OS.

Google showcased their latest update to their Android Operating System- affectionately known as Ice Cream Sandwich at an event in Hong Kong earlier today. It’s a big update for the Android community but we pick our five favorite features:

1) Support for 1280×720 pixels on Smartphones

The HD resolution of 1280×720 brings Smartphones on par with HDTVs of 32″ but on a screen size of less than 5″, these highly packed pixels will make everything on screen appear extremely crisp. This is the highest resolution that any phone sports today and is a peak at what to expect from the Superphones of tomorrow, like the Samsung Galaxy Nexus

2) Android Beam

Although NFC has been present on Android devices since the launch of Nexus S by Google, it will finally become mainstream with Ice Cream Sandwich’s Beam feature. You will be able to share images, contacts, links and maps with not just other Ice Cream Sandwich devices by a simple tap but hopefully other devices like the Nokia N9 and BlackBerry 9900

3) Face Unlock

Tired on inputting codes or swiping your Smartphone to unlock it? Ice Cream Sandwich has a Face Unlock feature that, using the front facing camera, will automatically unlock when the owner pops in front of the device. Not sure what will happen if you pop a picture of the owner in front of the device though-

4) Voice Typing

Although not marketed as a Siri killer, Voice typing in Ice Cream Sandwich should certainly help dictating a message to friends or an article to our CMS. Like Siri, we’ll have to wait and see how it works in real life.

5) Interface Tweaks

Ice Cream Sandwich will bring the button-less design of tablets to Smartphones with gestures taking priority over tap-and-hold actions. Google has also reworked on multi-tasking, again, bringing in a honeycomb kind of menu to switch between tasks. Tons of other improvements will also be seen on everything from widgets and notifications to GMail and Contacts app.

We pick our favorite features from the upcoming Lion OS X for the Mac

At yesterday’s WWDC event, Apple showcased their next version of OS X which will be coming out next month and for $30 (AED 110.00) as an upgrade. It will only be available through the Mac Store to download on your computer- Apple is not planning on selling physically copies for it. Out of the over 250 new features, we pick our five favorite from Lion.

1) Mission Control

Mission Control brings together full-screen apps, Dashboard, Exposé, and Spaces in one new feature that gives you a bird’s-eye view of everything on your system. With a single swipe on the trackpad, your desktop zooms out to Mission Control. Think of it as the hub of your system: View everything and go anywhere with just a click.

Five awesome updates coming to your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Apple unveiled their new iOS 5 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch yesterday and although the new OS won’t be available until fall, there are some pretty amazing additions that bring iOS on par with other mobile operating systems like Android and BlackBerry OS. Although there are over 200 new features, we select five of our favorite ones.

1) iMessage

Considering the popularity of BBM in the region, this is probably the most awaited feature by iPhone fans and one that has BlackBerry users worried. Like the BlackBerry Messenger, iMessage will allow iPhone, iPad and even iPod touch users to send messages over WiFi or 3G. You will be able to send text, photos, videos, locations as well as contacts and like BBM, get delivery reports and read receipts. What is not supported yet is Group Chats.

Netbooks have become wildly popular as your second computer due to their portability. We recommend the following five Netbooks for October 2009.

HP Paviliion dv2
The dv2 walks a fine line between a Netbook and a standard Notebook. Based on the AMD Neo 1.6GHz CPU that wants to compete with the Atom, yet featuring 512MB of dedicated video memory that allows you to watch HD movies on its gorgeous 11.x inch screen. Battery life could be better though.

From the people that invented the Netbook segment, the EeePC 1101 cuts through the fat in a nice slim form factor that adds a higher-res screen and an overclocking mode to get the best out of your CPU. Unfortunately, the GMA500 based graphics controller is a bit under-powered.

Dell Mini 10
The Dell Mini 10 is a cute little netbook that will get things along with feeling right at home in either a man or a woman’s hand due to its availability in multiple colors.

Samsung NC10
A very well thought out and designed netbook, the NC10 has one of the best keyboards without sacrificing style. Specs are pretty much identical to all other netbooks such as a 1.6GHz Atom with 1GB RAM.
