27-inch HR274H monitor features what Acer dubs as its own "chip-based solution"

Looks like the 3D crazy seem to be having the last laugh as more and more manufacturers are not only embracing the technology but also seem to be looking for new ways to rub it in the faces of the non-believers.

This latest bit of technology from Acer utilizes what they dub to be their own “chip-based solution” which will convert all 2D content to 3D in real time. The 27-inch HR274H monitor also comes with a set of passive, polarized 3D glasses. The technology, which can be toggled on and off from the TV itself comes at a hefty price of $599 and is, apart from the conversion, a relatively normal monitor with no specs to write home about. According to Engadget the panel will also be of just a standard 1920×1080 resolution.

We have an AIO round-up coming up next week and this was one the printers that I got to test. In a nutshell, it defies the traditional printers by offering a lot in a small packaging and is ideally suited for the home user. With wired and wireless connectivity as well as apps downloadable from the web that include everything from spreadsheets to Disney coloring pages, it is sure to keep everyone in the family entertained.

Samsung has unveiled yet another addition to its ever expanding fleet of tablets, the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. And yes, it does manage to trump the older, popular Galaxy Tab in nearly all features.

The new Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 7″ WSVGA display (no Super AMOLED), 1GB of RAM, 16 or 32GB of internal memory, a microSD slot (up to 32GB), 3-megapixel auto focus rear camera, 2-megapixel front facing camera, Android 3.2 Honeycomb (with TouchWiz), and a 4,000mAh battery.

Of course, you get the TouchWiz interface from Samsung and the usual connectivity goodies including 21 MBPS HSPA, Bluetooth 3.0, Quad band and WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n.

Its scheduled to be released by the end of next month in Austria and Indonesia, then gradually across the globe. Looks like we might have to wait a bit to see it in our region here.

Nokia may have lost its market to Android and iPhone in US or Europe but its still king of mobile phone sales in non-smartphone category and in third world countries. Nokia 101 is one such phone which is about to debut within next week, in countries like India, Pakistan and Africa etc. This phone is a successor of their previous cheap yet very successful, Nokia 3310.

To meet the demands of third world countries the 101 still carries a FM radio and torch like 3310. But gets an upgrade in its screen by boosting a 128 x 160 resolution color display. It has a MP3 player, a standard 3.5 mm audio jack, SD card support. Dual sim slot is another one of hot features required in these countries where people carry different connections for different rates and packages. It has a long battery life of 8.5 hours talk-time and 32 days on standby.

All these features will make it an attractive phone for the third world community, when it will be sold for a low price of 130 AED / 3000 PKR. It will be available in phantom black and coral red colors.

We test how Dual GPU configuration work out for Nvidia's famous GTX460 cards.

Today we would be reviewing Nvidia’s ever so famous mid-range card that is the GTX 460 but in SLI configuration. Many people nowadays are going towards the SLI way since it’s relatively a cheaper solution to counter the many high end cards out there. Many gamers now prefer to invest in two mid range cards in SLI setup rather than investing in single high end card to get maximum performance. We will be using a Gigabyte and a Sparkle Calibre card to check how good this SLI setup is.

NVidia launched the 460 to cater the mid-range gamers section and it definitely succeeded in that by launching the 460 which had an excellent price to performance ratio. The 460 has 336 shaders and an effective memory speed of 3600 MHz on most of the cards. Obviously when you put 2 of these babies in SLI have the advantage of extra memory and extra performance enough to take out the 480.

The Multi-GPU concept was initiated by Nvidia under name of “SLI”, but same technology is available in ATi cards too under the name of “Crossfire”. The methodology allows you to combine/add a second or even third similar generation to the one you already have in GPUs. By doing this you effectively try to double, triple or even quadruple your raw rendering gaming performance (in theory). However, it is not essential that adding in more GPUs will always increase performance as they don’t scale linearly. Plus it also depends a lot on the drivers. Ideally though 2 cards scale the best when they are same as is the case with the 460s in discussion.

Razer has built an enviable reputation in the world of gaming hardware, putting the three snake logo on everything from motion sensing controllers like the Hydra, to cable management systems. So this latest green creation isn’t much of a surprise to any of us.

This is part of what Razer is calling ‘the essentials’, a good looking entry level gaming headset that can also be used with your smartphone. For that it brings an useful inline mic, detachable, to the party. It also features the much-needed compatibility with your favourite Blackberry, iPhones and HTC smart phones.

The ear pads are said to be “premium leatherette ear cushions that mold perfectly to the shape of your ears.” In English? One size fits all.

While they do admittedly look awesome, we’ll have to wait to get our hands on one to pass a definitive verdict. The Electra will hit stores everywhere this October. Official retail price is $59.99

Microsoft although was more focused on Kinect input on this E3, but they still will be releasing a tangible controller for racing game fans. This controller will be wireless and will have additional D-Pad and A-B-X-Y buttons on top of the U shaped steering wheel. The underside to wheel will have the Z-axis triggers for acceleration and reverse. This wireless controller will be marketed with upcoming Forza sequel. The build quality looks really good and price will be $60 when it releases later this year. It is pretty sweet for hardcore racing fans.

Finally an X360 wireless headset for both receiving and transmitting audio.

One of the problems with providing a complete wireless solution for Xbox 360 is that even though the audio reception is wireless, but mic still needs a wire connected to controller to transmit audio. Mad Catz would provide the first complete wireless solution for your audio needs.

Mad Catz Warhead will get everything it needs from a base station connected to your console. The headphone support 7.1 audio and you will get Dolby surround sound to four pairs of headphones. The USB base station will also give you an on-screen battery readout as well as an extra battery charged in it for you to swap if you run out of juice. The price will be around $300 when they release this summer. It will finally bring a complete wireless solution for X360 and since Mad Catz has done an Exclusive deal with Microsoft for native audio support. So, Mad Catz headsets might be only one you can buy for wireless freedom on X360.

NGP said to be merely a codename for a console to feature PS3 titles on it.

Everyone wants to know more about Sony’s upcoming portable device. The ‘Next Generation Portable’ (NGP) as it is known for now has promised insane graphics capabilities and an interesting take on playability (With a touchpad on the back of the device).

Engadget seems to have gathered a bit more about the device from Shuhei Yoshida, the president of SCEA worldwide studios, and it seems that even though the new device is to be released soon, the PSP will stick around for longer. Whats more, porting PS3 games to the device is said to be a simple process and Sony is working to try and make developing games for the platform an extremely easy process.

The best news of all? NGP is just the codename the official name will be announced later. Here’s hoping they name it The Bazooka or The Cyborg. Completely plausible names of course.
