Quick Look: Case Logic SLRC-206

There are many SLR bags out there to choose from depending on what kind of equipment you use, but any casual or serious photographer will always have a Camera with a few lenses, and of course a laptop. To fit all these needs we have the all new SLR Camera Laptop Backpack from Case Logic. One thing I have to admit about Case Logic bags is that they are very lightweight, and Case Logic SLRC-206, is the same, weighing only 2 pounds.

The Case Logic SLRC-206 has Patent pending “hammock system” that suspends your SLR above the bottom of case, providing superior impact protection. The hammock system is adjustable in case you have a bigger camera. I tried it with my Canon 5D mark II with Canon 50mm F1.2 lens on the camera and everything was nicely packed. The only thing which was uncomfortable was the camera strap, but I am sure after few times one can get used to anything new.

One of the other good things about this bag is its space; you can easily fit in your external flash, lenses, charger etc. I personally believe the Case Logic SLRC-206 is one of the best camera bags for those who are out trekking and looking for a wet adventure since the base of the bag is rubber. It’s ruggedized and waterproof, so you won’t have to worry if you put the bag down on a dirty spot.

Laptops like my MacBook Pro 15” can be easily inserted into this bag. The shoulder straps on the SLRC-206 are slightly hard, but I guess in time with some usage they will become soft, this has happened with other bags I have tried in the past.

And did I mention a tripod? Oh Yes, tripods can be strapped to the SLRC-206 as well. I know most of us carry tripods separately, But you can see from the picture below that it can be strapped on very conveniently.

Overall the Case Logic SLRC-206 can become the de facto carrying bag for any photography enthusiast or working professional with a passion for photography, so both your work and hobby are together with you wherever you go.

The  Case Logic SLRC-206 is available in all leading electronic stores (like Sharf DG, Virgin Megastores and Carrefour, etc.) for AED 399.

Canon EOS-1D Mark IV Review

Let’s face it, Canon has been around since 1933, and if you are doing something for 80 years you are supposed be good at it, and Canon EOS-1D Mark IV is a prime example of that. We all agree that digital photography has changed the world, there are more photos taken every second than ever before, even more shared and uploaded. But all photos taken and shared might not be of equal quality. When precision matters, that’s where professional equipment kicks in, especially in photography where there are moments which can’t be missed.

For those moments (and people) Canon has their 1D series, and the EOS-1D Mark IV is definitely not a letdown, targeting serious photographers, photojournalist, sports photographers; this camera will deliver what it is required to do. The Canon 1D series have always meant serious business, “1” refers to their top of the range cameras. What makes the Canon 1D Mark IV series unique is its autofocus system of 45 points and a speed of 10fps! Here is an example of Burj Khalifa, these shots are handheld and shot with the following settings:

Lens – Canon 24mm f1.4 1/30 ISO 400 shot RAW+JPEG

Card: SANDISK Extreme 8GB 60MB/s UDMA
