Rumor: Samsung working on a brand makeover

New “vibrant international” branding to be introduced at CES 2013.

Australia’s Channel News is reporting that Samsung is working on a “radical brand makeover”.

Samsung has hired the design team behind Nike, and Scott Bedbury, a brand consultant who previously worked with Starbucks, to introduce a new, “vibrant international” image to rival Apple’s simplistic and sophisticated look.

“Even the advertising will change with products linked to lifestyle activities similar to what Nike does” said Channel News’ source.

Samsung is set to unveil this new look at CES 2013, which could be the perfect time for the company to do so as it reveals its latest lineup of smartphones, TVs, tablets and what not.

Could Samsung’s new makeover match that of Apple’s? We are definitely curious to find out.
