Reports are coming in from users in US and UK that their Microsoft Surface Touch Cover is already beginning to wear down. Several users have complained that precious covers are splitting open at the seam, exactly at the point where the cover attaches to the Surface tablet magnetically. This exposes a few of the internal wires in the cover, as well as causing the top part to curl up in a rather peculiar fashion.
Following up on several posts on the official Microsoft Surface forums, it looks like this issue might not be just a faulty batch of covers since the exact same issue is happening to users in two different countries. Microsoft have not made an official statement as to how many users have reported this problem, but have advised that any users facing issues with their Touch covers can head to the nearest Microsoft store for a free replacement.
Microsoft have been pushing Windows 8 and the Surface tablet since their official launch a few weeks ago, but although the company has high hopes for sales of their tablet it has yet to make an official forecast on sales figures.
