Etisalat 300Mbps Internet speeds
A 300Mbps connection means that you could be downloading files from the Internet at rough 37.5 MB/sec or roughly 2GB per minute. To put things in perspective, a full-HD 1080p Bluray movie is generally around 22GB so you’ll be done downloading it within 10 minutes.
Etisalat announced their Digital Wallet Flous service at GITEX this year that will work with Android and iPhones and allow you to transact using your mobile device. You can fill your account with funds or link a debit/credit card and then simply tap away at places like Carrefour, Pizza Hut and RTA to pay for your good and services. Etisalat is also working with banks and vending machine manufacturers to use Flous to get anything from coke to cash out.
Huawei Ascend D1 and MediaPad 10
Huawei announced their new Quad-core Ascend D1 phone and the MediaPad 10 tablet at GITEX this week. These two new products are extremely well equipped yet don’t cost an arm and a leg. The Ascend D1 has a quad core processor, LTE, 4.5″ HD screen and a 2600 mAh battery and is is priced at AED 1699 while the MediaPad has a full-HD screen and dolby digital audio at AED 1999
