Pre-order it now for AED 1999.

UPDATE: At the request of Microsoft and HTC, we have removed the video. It should be back online when Windows Phone is launched end of the month.

At the GITEX Computer Shopper show currently being held in Dubai, UAE, HTC is showing off their upcoming Windows Phone 8 based devices- the HTC 8X and the HTC 8S. During the first few hours of the show, I managed to play a bit with the HTC 8X.

The HTC 8X and Windows Phone 8 are certainly extremely zippy and fluid and you can see that Arabic is now built-in along with a host of other languages. Some of the other apps I managed to check out included Maps, Microsoft Office, camera and pictures as well as contacts and calendar. Typing was also pretty awesome of whatever little I did on the device.

The HTC 8X phone features a dual core 1.5GHz processor along with a 720×1280 pixel 4.3″ screen and an 8MP f/2.0 aperture camera supporting backside-illumination. It is available for pre-oder at AED 1,999 (US$550) and comes in a variety of colors.

“We wanted to reveal this remarkable design and handset at the GITEX Shopper, so as to ensure that visitors are left with an unforgettable HTC experience,” said Mohamed Kais Zribi, Regional Director, HTC MENA. “HTC’s Windows Phones are perfectly in line with our mission to place the consumer at the forefront of our business ethos and provide them with lifestyle integrated innovation.”

HTC was also showing the HTC 8S which has a dual core 1.0GHz processor along with a 480×800 pixel 4.0″ screen. While the HTC 8S does not have the high-end specs of the HTC 8X, I preferred it over it’s more powerful sibling as far as the feel in your hand is concerned. Pricing for the HTC 8S was not provided for pre-order though interested parties can give their contact details at the HTC booth and will be informed when the unit is ready for purchasing.

Both these Windows Phone 8 devices will be available across retail stores in the UAE early November.
