Pining for your Start Menu?
If you’ve gone and installed Windows 8 this week, chances are that you already miss your beloved Start Menu. Don’t get me wrong – I like the swish and glamour of the new user interface, but when I’m on the Windows 8 desktop and I need to get to the Control Panel or launch a program that I may not have pinned, my mouse instinctively hovers on the lower left part of my screen, mindlessly looking for the non-existent Start button.
Thankfully, there’s an app that you can download for free that will create the look and feel of the beloved Start Menu. Win8 StartButton is available for free in the Windows app store, and pins all of your installed programs as well as handy shortcuts to your documents and system settings. It also comes with two free optional programs – Torch Browser which is a lightweight web browser, and Media Player Classic which is a simple media player, akin to what you’d find in older versions of Windows.
So if you’re pining for that beloved orb known as the Start button, click here to grab the app.
