Valve looking to enter PC hardware business

Half Life 3 confirmed, amirite?

Half Life maker Valve is looking for an ‘Industrial Designer’ to help them enter the PC hardware market.

In a job position posted on its official website, Valve says that due to being “frustrated by the lack of innovation in the computer hardware space” they have decided to “jump in” into the highly competitive market. Valve is even looking to innovate on “basic input” like keyboard and mouse, which they say “haven’t really changed in any meaningful way over the years.”

This reaffirms the existence of ‘Steambox’, a console-like PC that could possibly come to be the standard for developers. Although Valve did deny it back when the rumor started, the company also said that they wouldn’t hesitate to make their own hardware if they have to.
