And you thought your Full HD TV looked amazing?

At a press event half today, Sony formally introduced their gigantic 84″ 4K BAVIA LED TV. Priced at AED 99,999 the gorgeous display will be showcased at the Jumbo stand at GITEX this year and be available for pre-order with an optional cinema speaker setup. You’ll have to wait until November to actually have this beauty in your home and office in the UAE, Saudi and Qatar.

4K TVs provide four times the resolution of current Full HD displays. The 8.28 megapixel panel has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and looks stunning. Finding content at that native resolution will be a challenge, especially considering that we barely have a few TV channels that have only recently gone HD. To tackle this, the TV will up convert your content to 4K but like SD content upscaled to HD, don’t expect the picture quality you would get out of a native 4K footage.
