Samsung will take all the glory.
While many people are looking forward to GITEX shopper (29th Sept – 6th Oct) a whole lot more are looking forward to the new iPhone 5 as well. Unfortunately Apple’s latest smartphone will not be available in much capacity during GITEX, reports GulfNews. Launched last week, the iPhone 5 will not be available in the UAE until late October or early November when both du and Etisalat will be launching the handset with new price plans and the nanoSIM.
Meanwhile Windows 8 is also ramping up for worldwide release by the end of October, which means their flagship handset, the Nokia Lumia 920, as well as the HTC 8X and Huawei W1 will not be available at GITEX either. The good news is that Windows Phone 8 will have support for Arabic out of the box, so expect the handsets to be available in UAE alongside the rest of the world.
As Apple and Windows Phone 8 will go head to head in a month’s time, GITEX shopper is left completely open for Samsung to own. With the popularity of the Galaxy SIII as well as the hype building up for the Galaxy Note II, which will probably be out in time for GITEX shopper, it seems that Samsung will have no problem wooing in the techy crowd.
