Google Play reaches 25 billion downloads, we get sale

AED 1 for top selling apps!

Google recently hit the 25 millionth sale milestone on their marketplace, which was renamed to Google Play not so long ago. And to celebrate this momentus occasion, Google is offering massive sales over the next 5 days (including today) where selected apps will be sold for 25 cents (under AED 1).

Launched in October 2008, the Android marketplace has come a long way now, with over 675,000 apps to choose from. Their 1 billionth download was achieved in August 2010, while 10 billion hit very soon in December 2011. Now just 9 months later another 15 billion apps have been downloaded, coming to a total of 25 billion downloads worldwide.
