3D cameras like the one found in Microsoft’s Kinnect might soon replace the looney webcam found on your notebooks. At IDF 2012 today, Intel showed gesture based computing using a 3D camera by Creative- the company that brought Sound Blaster to the PC a couple of decades back. The following video showcases how this technology can be used.

Although a bit rough around the edges, it certainly has the potential to transform casual gaming on the PC. We will certainly be looking more into this as it becomes more available.
