Is Abu Dhabi launching it’s own version of GITEX?

The Abu Dhabi Electronics Shopper 2013 is set to bring consumer electronics exhibition and sales to the capital, from 2-6th April 2013. Organized by Dome Exhibitions, the event looks to tap into the ever-growing consumer electronics market, and looks to be on par with GITEX, the trade and consumer electronics exhibition held in Dubai each year.

ADE Shopper 2013 is the first of its kind for the capital, where retail trade in the UAE amounted to an estimated US$ 46.8 billion in 2010. According to research firm GfK, electronics trading in the UAE has an estimated Dh.12 Biliion in 2012 compared to Dh.11.1 Billion in 2011.

ADE Shopper 2013 will also be holding the ADES Game Championship, with the hopes to showcase the latest & best games the gaming industry has to offer. The show expects a visitor footprint of around 75,000 which sounds doable – if you haven’t already been trampled at GITEX.
