Siri has competition.

Google has announced that a new version of its Google Search application for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch will be out soon. A key feature of the new app will be the Siri-like voice search functionality.

It may be remembered that Google recently released Google Now for Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) which has this same voice tech included into its current build.

As for a release date for the app, all Google has said is that it should be in the Apple App store “within the next couple of days”.
