If you’re a PC gamer who scoffs at the idea of a ‘gaming laptop’, prepare to start trembling at the knees.
Origin, those wonderful makers of insane gaming PCs and laptops have announced the EON17-SLX, a gaming laptop that supports SLX for up to two discrete GPUs. The system will support either a single or dual 2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD 7970M or 4GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M. In layman’s terms, that means you can run any PC game up to about the year 2015 without needing an upgrade (or so I’ve been told by my fellow PC gurus). Starting at $ 1,877 the basic configuration features a 17.3 Full HD Widescreen 16:9, 1920 x 1080 resolution, 2 RAID capable HDD bays and a plethora of connectivity ports such as HDMI, DisplayPort and plenty of USB 3.0 ports. And with support up to 32GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM and overclockable i7-3920XM Quad-Core Processors, there is plenty of power under this laptop’s hood to blow any desktop rig away.
As with any Origin product, there’s plenty of other customization options to choose from, such as paint jobs to specific components to include in the final build. Check out the full configuration options at the Origin website.
