Microsoft launches upgrade for recent Windows 7 purchases

Upgrade to Windows 8 for $14.99


Microsoft announced today that users who’ve recently bought a Windows 7 PC can upgrade to Windows 8 for $14.99. The company promised that anyone who bought a PC after June 2nd would be eligible for the offer, with registrations being open until the end of January 2013 after which you’ll have to pay full price for a copy of Windows 8.

The upgrade offer is available in 140 countries, and eligible customers can register at the Welcome to the Windows Upgrade Offer website.
