The Nikon Coolpix S800c runs Google’s mobile OS

Google’s idea behind the Android was to have it power any kind of consumer device- from a smartphone to a car entertainment center. Considering how almost all phones have a camera, it is a bit surprising to see an actual dedicated camera using Android release as late as now but Nikon have certainly made that initiative with their Coolpix S800c

This point-and-shoot camera has a 10X optical zoom along with GPS and WiFi capabilities and can do 16 megapixel shots or full-HD 1080p videos. Running over Android 2.3, it would certainly be interesting to see what other capabilities of Android will Nikon utilize- such as posting directly to Facebook/Twitter or apply filters through Instagram. Priced at US$350, the Coolpix S800c will be available in black and white starting next month.
