In two months.

Samsung had a lot of hopes for their latest Android powered flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S3, and it seems like all their effort has finally paid off as Yonhap News reports the Korean giant has sold 10 million units worldwide in the two months of launch.

Comparatively the Galaxy S2 took 5 months to reach the 10 million mark. The iPhone 4S has reportedly sold 4 million units on its launch weekend, while the Galaxy S3 had over 9 million pre-orders by over one hundred carriers worldwide within two weeks of its unveiling.

Shin Jong-kyun, the president of Samsung’s Mobile Communication and IT division, told reporters that the phone has become a 10 million seller after it was first unveiled on May 29 in London .However, he did not divulge the exact number of units sold.

The Android Ice Cream Sandwich, powered by the quad-core Exynos processor along with a streamlined design and new features has proved to be an incredible hit. And because of Apple’s iPhone 5 not expected to launch till Fall, Samsung expects the shipment for the Galaxy S3 to surpass 40 million units by the end of this year.
