Rovio, the makers behind the ridiculously popular game Angry Birds, have released a new game called Amazing Alex for iPhone and Android. The game is physics-based where you are challenged to collect stars in each level by setting up a series of objects to set off a chain reaction.

Each level is split into two parts – the first part lets you setup your various objects and in the second part you get to see if your meticulous arrangement can help you nab all of the stars. There are around 35 different objects to play around with, from balloons to footballs and cardboard boxes. Story-wise there is a light plot where Alex has to clean his room, and by setting up the various objects you get to somehow magically achieve this.

The game has over 100 levels to get through, and also features a quick level designer where you can later share your creations with friends. While Amazing Alex is a great distraction and offers a fair bit of challenge at later levels, only time will tell if it’s as hugely successful as Angry Birds.
