Users who buy Acer Ultrabooks between June 2012 to Jan 2013 can upgrade to Windows 8 for free.

Acer is an active partner in the recently launched Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Program which offers its PC customers the opportunity to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8 for just €14.99 (approx. AED68). The company today announced that it has extended that offer to its Ultrabook customers, as well.

Customers who bought their Acer Ultrabooks between 2nd June, 2012 and 31st January, 2013 can apply for a refund from Acer, for the cost of the Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Program. The eligible Ultrabook models for this promotion are the Aspire S3, Aspire S5, Aspire M3 and Aspire M5.

The promotion is available across Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait. Customers must visit Acer’s Windows 8 Upgrade website to avail the offer. They will be required to submit their name, email address, phone number, bank account details, and the system’s serial number along with Microsoft’s email confirming the Windows 8 upgrade. According to Acer, it will take 6 to 8 weeks for customers to receive their reimbursement.
