The new Skype for Linux offers interface improvements & various tweaks

Under-developed & in beta stage for a long time, Microsoft has recently released the latest revision of Skype for Linux. If you are thinking why Microsoft is in the picture, that is because, it had acquired Skype for $8.5 billion on 10th May, 2011.

Currently out of beta & consistent with the latest updates, the new Skype for Linux uses a new interface for calls & conversations. According to the official blog, all in all, the functionality has improved.

During the acquisition, many Linux users had assumed Microsoft would eliminate the Linux version altogether. Many of them are now pleasantly surprised.
