The stylish magazine-style app is finally out on Android…

Popular iOS apps take time to catch up on the Android platform; one such example is Flipboard. The news app that presents content in a stylish magazine-style format is finally out on Android.

The app will be available on the Google Play Android app store from Friday reports Digital Trends. Moreover, the app will be bundled with Samsung’s flagship smartphone, the new Galaxy S3. Besides being a news-feed, it is rolling out localized editions of the app – Germany, Korea, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands are all getting their own personalized versions. YouTube & Google+ has been incorporated into Flipboard, taking advantage of the social capabilities of Google. There has been no hints of a version for the Android-powered tablets though.

It is quite interesting to see popular apps for the once ‘iOS club’ only making their way to the Android platform. The last really big iOS-only app to cross over was Instagram.
