A feature rich package for Ivy Bridge.

Good: Good layout, liquid cooling option on VRM heatsinks, wireless & mSATA adapter, all the bells & whistles of Z77 chipset, ThunderFX soundcard provides additional level of audio superiority & connectivity, and easy overclocking.
Bad: For the high asking price ASUS could've provided a larger mousepad and a USB 3.0 bracket.
Price: AED 1,450

Starting the benchmarks are the two most popular data compression software: WinRAR and 7-zip. For both of these programs I have used the built-in benchmarking software. A higher score is better.

The next test is Cinebench R11.5 wherein a 3D image is rendered using the CPU. This test stresses all the CPU cores, maximizing the threads. Results are given in points, the higher the better. The second test x264 HD 4.0 is a video encoding test in which a small HD video file is encoded in x264 format. The results are measured in frames per second, in that the faster a processor, the higher the fps.

PCMark stress tests all the resources of a system. Since almost all the components in our testbed are one of the best in the market right now, the entirety of the performance will depend on how good our test motherboard is. As usual, the higher the score, the better.

3DMark 11 is an industry standard graphical benchmark, and while it mostly stresses the graphics card, the CPU is also highly stressed for specific tests. The higher the score, the better.

    When is this coming out?

  • Waiting on M5 Formula

I hear you Andrew and i repeat “WHEN IS THIS COMING OUT” & ” WHAT WILL IT COST”

  • Sick of waiting

Im honestly sick of hearing about how well this board is in relation to how well it over clocks and the features it has, etc etc. Its getting tiresome and i think i speak for allot of people who have been interested in buying this mobo for what seems to be coming up to 6-8 months now. If this continues to be delayed people will start to move away from asus as the PR regarding this motherboard has been pushed passed a likeable threshhold. Another important point is price, if this mobo comes out at some drastically stupid cost especially after all the delays i think this might turn into another Nintendo pricing issue and result in people going elsewhere.

Has anyone noticed that these test boards (like other reviews, a common trend) are not at the same category or level? This in regard to features. This review should include a Sniper 3 z77 and the EVGA Z77 ftw as well. Instead it has an ud5-z77 and another lower end Asus board (in regards to features). Just lacking.

That’s because we don’t always get the high-end boards from all manufacturers. ASUS gives their motherboards immediately upon (or just before) release, and if we don’t have anything else to compare it to (features wise) we have no choice but to compare it to something not in the same category.
