Jetsons, eat your heart out.
Dutch company PAL-V this week made fantasy come true with the first flight of its prototype flying car. The PAL-V One (Personal Air and Land Vehicle) is able to convert from a speedy road vehicle to a propeller-based flying vehicle, capable of taking off a runway of 165m.
When ‘folded up’ as a regular car, the vehicle handles like a small sports car. In about 10 minutes, its tail and main rotors can be unfolded and prepared for takeoff.
The company is now looking for investors after having conducted a series of flight tests before they move into the final development stage.
