Intel, Gigabyte, ASUS, MSI, Biostar and ECS tested.
First comes Intel’s own entry for the Z77 chipset, the $249 Intel DZ77GA-70K comes from their Extreme Series motherboards. The DZ77GA-70K has pretty much all the checkboxes ticked for Z77 feature motherboards, coming second only to the ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe.
The DZ77GA-70K supports 32GB of RAM at 1600MHz, features two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots and 8x USB 3.0 ports (4x via headers). Then there’s 4x SATA II and 4x SATA III ports. As for onboard connectivity, there’s only 1x HDMI output, no DVI or VGA, but to compensate it has 2x LAN ports.
Overclocking the Intel DZ77GA-70K was extremely easy thanks to the intuitive and simple UEFI BIOS. I overclocked our Core i7-3770K to 4.7GHz at an impressively low 1.35v.
