Looking to make an impression in the thin-client market.

Tech giant Dell have decided to shed a few pounds (figuratively speaking) and announced this week that they are going to acquire thin client champions Wyse Technology.

While no financial details are yet available on the deal, the move is a smart one for the PC giant which has been deftly snapping up companies in recent years. The acquisition of Wyse Technology would bring Wyse’s incredible thin-client and cloud knowledge to the business, as well as its impressive portfolio of hardware.

Thin client computing offers a substantial saving to companies if implemented correctly, allowing businesses to offer lightweight desktop or laptop replacements that connect to central servers that host the actual applications and data. Wyse’s strong relationship with Citrix have also helped to make its products a force to be reckoned with in the market.
