Take a field trip – to an Apple store

When I was in school and we had to have a ‘field day’, we’d either go to a zoo or to a park. That for us was the greatest day ever because it meant that we got a day out of school to go frolic around in nature or poke fun at animals with no regard for the safety of our classmates.

So in this day and age, where do kids go on their field trips? Why, to the Apple store of course!

Teachers can now take their students (or their fellow teachers) down to the Apple store to witness an “unforgettable learning experience” according to Apple. The program allows students to create content on the equipment in the stores, and share them in the store for a big gold star.

So forget about the wonders of nature, the great outdoors, or any real learning – drop your class into an Apple store and pop around the corner for a latte.

AMD FX-6200 CPU Review

Quote: “I do not hate this processor. Neither do I love it though. The
Bulldozer concept looked great on paper. Implementing it is another
story altogether. A popular theory behind why the processor acts as it
does is that AMD simply does not have the manpower to hand tune large
portions of the chip. There is extensive use of automatic place and
route of transistors on the software side, but I have heard it said
that this results in a design that is about 20% slower and about 20%
larger than a largely hand tuned design. When we start thinking of
these numbers, we can look at the size of Bulldozer cores vs. that of
the Intel i7/i5 series of parts. The Intel parts are smaller and have
a much higher IPC, yet are still clocked aggressively to be the
fastest performers on the block.”

“When it comes to the performance results, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 performed as expected and we were impressed. Our performance numbers significantly improved and our gaming experience was better! Of the nine benchmarks that we used we found that adding a second GeForce GTX 680 for SLI improved performance on average by 64% at a resolution of 1920×1080 and 84% at 2560×1600. All of our tests showed a larger benefit from running in SLI at 2560×1600, so…”

When i first started using a personal computer i remember that i chose a configuration with an 300MB hard disk drive which was not only the highest capacity drive available at the time but it also cost as much as half of the entire system. Almost 22 years later technology has advanced to a level where a person can actually purchase one of the latest entry level 4TB hard disk drives (4000000MB) for less than USD350/300Euros, currently that is since prices tend to fall. Hitachi GST has already released 3 different 4TB HDD models in the market, two in their Deskstar consumer oriented line and one in their Ultrastar enterprise line. Today with us we have the high end consumer model, the Deskstar 7K4000 (HDS724040ALE640) and as usual it will go through rigorous testing to see just how well it performs compared to other hard disk drives in the market.

” Up for review today I’ve got another PC case called the Evolution and it’s from a company called Cougar. This case is not exactly what I would call expensive coming in at around $100, but it’s got plenty of features that even enthusiast users can appreciate like room for large video cards, and SATA dock built-in and a removable hard drive cage. The case is all black, inside and out and it features a built-in fan controller for up to six fans to keep your system cool and quiet.”

Cougar Evolution Full Tower Review

The fact that most PC Cases that arrive here for review purposes are designed and manufactured by the top and most well-known manufacturers in the market usually results in a very nice balance between quality and features, not to mention design. Every now and then however we do receive something special in both terms of quality and features (design too) manufactured by a not so well known company in the field and i believe that is quite more interesting since new companies lack not only the required experience but also the resources needed for such a project. So on our test bench today we have a product by such a company and more specifically the Evolution Full Tower by Cougar.
