How Real People Will Use Windows 8

You just want to yell at your screen.

A video is rapidly making the rounds demonstrating that Windows 8 might not be as user-friendly as Microsoft wants to make it to be.

Uploaded by tech guru Chris Pirillo, the video shows Chris’ dad trying to use Windows 8 for the first time. The chaos of course ensues once his dad launches the Windows Explorer app and then can’t figure out how to get back to the Metro-style dashboard. Yes too I was shouting ‘PRESS THE START BUTTON ON YOUR KEYBOARD!’ at my screen, but the video does highlight something important – how accessible is Windows 8 going to be for non-power users?

While Windows 8 is still in Consumer Preview mode, we’re hoping that there’s either going to be a killer tutorial for new users or the resurrection of the Office Assistant. Actually, scrap that last bit – I’m happy trying to figure stuff out the hard way.
