Because the world needs more ‘arty’ photos.
Budding photographers everywhere, rejoice! Instagram, the highly addictive photo-sharing and tweaking app is coming to Android.
The app has already garnered 27 million users and is currently only available on the iOS platform. But the company is very close to perfecting an Android version of their app, which means that a tidal wave of arty photos is headed our way (not sure if that’s a good thing or not).
Instagram works by allowing users to take photos and then applying various filters to the image to produce some rather fantastic results. They can they instantly share the edited photo on their own Instagram account for others to view and comment on. The app has gained plenty of attention since its launch, and several artists have had photo exhibitions of pictures taken with Instagram.
The addition of Android support would further swell the company’s already expanding user base, and Android users have long complained about feeling left out from the Instagram party.
