7-inch tablet to go up against Kindle Fire.

The Google Nexus branded smartphones from the likes of HTC and Samsung are one of the most sought after smartphones from Android enthusiasts. The simple reason being that Nexus smartphones get the latest iteration of software upgrades from Google first, while other Android smartphones need to go through multiple testing phases and customization.

Of course, the latest updates also bring in the latest from Google in terms of innovation on the Android platform. As such, Google’s long rumored tablet is also something many Android lovers are looking forward to. Well, the good news is that the Google tablet is coming, and sooner than you think if DigiTimes‘ sources are correct.

The 7-inch Google tablet will be made by ASUS, be prices between $199 – $249 and will be out by May. So in three months Google will supposedly release their own branded tablet that will be competing directly with Amazon’s Kindle Fire.
