Samsung today announced the launch of the SLATE PC Series 7, a device that combines the productivity of a PC with the usability and portability of a tablet.

Weighing in at 860g and 12.9mm thick, the SLATE PC Series 7 features an Intel i5 processor and 11.6″ screen. The 4GB DDR3 RAM and Samsung SSD ensures that the device boots into Windows in record speeds, and inputs via touch, pen, and keyboard offer a variety of usability modes.

“The Samsung SLATE PC Series 7 takes the laptop a full step towards total mobility – a revolution in portable computing. By combining the power of a PC and the portability of a tablet, the device represents a new era of efficient and powerful mobile computing that will appeal to our Gulf consumers.” said Denzil D’souza, Business Head of Notebooks at Samsung Gulf Electronics.

The SLATE PC Series 7 also features a micro HDMI slot as well as a full featured USB slot for connecting devices and drives. It also features a rather impressive 7 hours of battery life, as well as rear and front facing cameras for video conferences. The device currently comes in one configuration, with future models and specifications to be released.

The Samsung Slate PC Series 7 is now available across major outlets in the UAE and will retail at AED 4,999.
