New Windows logo reportedly unveiled at Windows 8 Consumer Preview

And this is what it looks like.


Throughout decades, the Windows logo has remained an iconic image that may have received facelifts with new versions but largely remained very visually memorable – a colorful flag representing windows. But looks like Microsoft may have been changing the logo entirely if the following images leaked by Chinese forum CNBeta is to be believed.

It’s a new more simpler design that is reminiscent of the Metro interface the new OS holds. But are the images real? The source isn’t really the most reliable, but then they have the image below which looks pretty genuine.

Looks like an image from the upcoming ARM Windows 8 tablets. I kind of like the new logo if it’s real, but it’s a shock that the company is choosing to replace their now-iconic logo for 25 years. But evolution happens.
