Double the size of any smartphone in the market.
Just when you thought 8 megapixel was a huge deal for a smartphone, HTC comes along and raises the bar. And not just raises it – pretty much doubles it over.
At CES 2012, HTC announced the Titan II. It will run the newest Windows Phone but the biggest selling point for the phone has got to be this – a 16 megapixel rear facing camera on the phone. That’s double from what the market has currently and is bound to grab people’s attentions. It’s DSLR-level in terms of megapixels. Sure, the camera itself doesn’t have the sensor to crank out nearly the same quality of images but you never know where that is heading. Interchangeable lenses are probably next.
The rest of the features mostly remain the same and pricing is yet to be announced, so there’s a lot of updates remaining for the phone currently. But nevertheless, HTC is on the go to up their game and though many people might not buy phones because of cameras, this still is a major move in the way of doing so.
