Chrome crowned the fastest browser in benchmark

While Safari is the slowest of the lot.

In just a couple of years, Google Chrome has found itself surpassing the market share of Firefox itself among other browsers. Now, we find out through a benchmark that it has left every other browser behind in the dust when it comes to speed as well.

Futuremark did a test to analyse the performance of web browsers and found out that Google Chrome is the fastest of them all. While Apple’s Safari used to be the fastest in the earlier versions of this test, it now ranks as the slowest of the lot tested on the PC and Mac. Opera, however, is close behind. I wonder how many people still use that browser.

In terms of popularity, Firefox shot at the top of the charts with nearly 30 percent of the users who gave the test ending up using the excellent browser. I like my Firefox over Chrome any day despite the probable speed increase.
