While this wildly popular App has been available for Android, iOS, and Blackberry for quite a while, it only arrived for Windows Phones three months ago. And only now has it moved on and brought group chat to this platform, after three months.

While it still lacks the looks and features of its iOS sibling, it’s clear the developers of WhatsApp are committed to updating the app on a regular basis and so the App is slowly but surely getting new functionalities, even if they’re not major, which can only be positive. Other changes this update brings are ability to delete large conversations, faster creation of faves, and faster moving of messages to and from storage.

Facebook Messenger for Windows goes Official

December 30, 2011 by

When news of the App for Windows was leaked yesterday, it seems like the company decided to capitalise on the leak instead of crying over spilt milk. Apparently this was a test version Facebook began testing with a small group of people last month.

In addition to supporting Facebook chat, the App will allow users to check notifications, friends requests and the ubiquitous news ticker which will be positioned on top of the contacts list. While we haven’t yet heard an official announcement on release regarding the App from Facebook, a version is available here.

The Facebook Messenger app is only for Windows machines at the moment, so if you’re running Linux or a Mac, you will have to wait for a release for your platform. New features such as group chat, video calling, limiting chat availability and more will be featured in upcoming versions.

Toy Story 3D (1995) Blu-ray Review

QUOTE: “To raise awareness of what was then the forthcoming theatrical release of Toy Story 3, Disney-Pixar went back to the original renderman source files to not only re-render the film for higher resolutions, but to create a stereoscopic 3D version of the film (and its sequel) for a theatrical re-release in January 2010. Disney have been one of the biggest proponents of 3D Blu-ray releases; this year alone they’ve released Tangled, Tron: Legacy, The Lion King, The Nightmare Before Christmas and Beauty and the Beast on the format, and now they are releasing another three – collectively known as the Toy Story Trilogy.

The premise of Toy Story is that in the presence of humans, toys are the inanimate objects that we know of, but once left alone they spring to life in a world of their own. When Andy, the child protagonist, receives a coveted Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) space hero figurine for his birthday, he is quickly favoured over the other toys, led by wild west character Woody (Tom Hanks). But when the toys are separated from their home, the two toys are forced to band together to make it back safe.”

Danger Den Q20 Black Series “Shadow” Acrylic Chassis Review

December 29, 2011 by

QUOTE: “Some time ago, back when extra hardware wasn’t something that was available to me, I had my first go at a Danger Den acrylic chassis build with the Black 21 chassis. If you want to, go ahead and have a look at how limited hardware and installing air cooling into a chassis designed for water can really bring a slick looking chassis down a peg. With that in mind, with this newly developed chassis there will be a full on custom water cooling loop installed into the chassis to showcase it how it deserves to be, and to give the readers more of what is to be expected when reviewing a product that is specifically driven as a chassis to house water cooling out of the gate.

If the Black 21 was a full tower, this new chassis is more of a mid tower just going by the chassis sizing, but don’t let that cloud your judgment. Even though the chassis has gotten smaller than the last solution I looked at, this new design has a couple of things the other didn’t, as well as a better handle in the way the water cooling is mounted into the chassis rather than directly to the face as the Black 21 did. The more obvious changes up front are things like the power button moved to the rear in the new chassis, the acrylic motherboard tray has been redesigned and the PSU has been moved from the top to the bottom. There are a couple of others to mention as well, but I’ve got to save some material for the rest of the review, so if you want to see what those things are, stick with me; I’m sure you are about to like what you see over the next few pages.”
