Youtube upgrades HTML5 Player to soon replace Flash

Another blow to Flash and this time a pretty major one. Youtube is probably the biggest user of Adobe Flash with billions of videos being embedded in that format. But all that could change any moment as Youtube is preparing their HTML5 player to be even more stronger and ready for deployment as the standard player.

The Google Operating System Blogupdates us about their new improvements to the player, which includes support for annotations and captions, 480p and 1080p options, embedding and URL, and fullscreen support for browsers like Chrome and Firefox. Basically stuff that already exists on Flash but is slowly being implement in the HTML5 rendition of Youtube. But it’s reaching there which is great.
