iPhone 4S battery issues continue after iOS 5.0.1 update

Some users reporting battery drain has increased!

After acknowledging the battery drain issue last week, Apple was quick to release a fix with the iOS 5.0.1 update rolled out over the weekend. It’s unclear at the moment where the majority of users lie with their issues, with many reporting successful battery life increase, but many also complaining that battery life hasn’t improved, some saying that it’s actually worse.

The infamous iPhone 4s Battery Life? thread which has nearly 5,000 posts has users reporting with varying degrees of success. Another thread 5.0.1 update–even worse battery life also lists a host of issues.

Eventually Apple has decided to repond to these issues as well, deciding, perhaps, to end this whole debacle once and for all. “The recent iOS software update addressed many of the battery issues that some customers experienced on their iOS 5 devices,” the company said in a statement given to AllThingsD. “We continue to investigate a few remaining issues.”

Expect another minor upgrade, probably iOS 5.0.2 to be coming out within a week and clearing up the last of these pesky battery bugs.
