Though the iPhone 4S disappointed people who were looking for the iPhone 5, there’s no denying that Siri, the highlight new voice recognition feature in the device has gained a lot of praise and has proved to be the main selling point of the device which had a massive opening. Now, the co-founder of the Siri technology has reportedly departed Apple according to sources at AllThingsSD.

Dag Kittlaus, who was the CEO of Siri which was then acquired by Apple, has reportedly left Apple on amicable terms but the real reason for the departure still hasn’t been revealed. Sources report that other execs from Siri are still expected to remain with Apple, though. The timing of his departure is curious since the 4S just launched to a record-breaking number and Siri itself becoming something of a pop-culture phenomenon.

If there’s anything more to the story than meets the eye, we’re bound to find out soon enough.
