GITEX ’11: Samsung Galaxy Note Hands-on

The ‘Tabphone’ market looks mighty fine.

While browsing the Etisalat stand at GITEX ’11 we came upon a behemoth of a smartphone in their line-up. The Galaxy Note, which we were wrongly informed to be the Galaxy SIII, is quite an incredible device to hold.

The 5.3″ 1280×800 screen looked absolutely incredible, and the dual-core 1.4GHz processor obviously kept everything running very fast. Take a look for yourself.

From auditing to editing, I now test and analyze the latest gadgets and games instead of the latest financial statements. Both jobs are equally intense and rewarding. When I'm not burning up hardware in the name of science, you'll find me nuking in DOTA 2 or engineering in TF2.

Wow. That looks awesome. Regarding the size: could it fit in your pocket? Or is it closer to a tablet than a phone, size-wise of course.

It fits Surprisingly easily in your pocket.  I made a mockup out of
cardboard to test out, and it passed my tests with flying colors ( can
sit down easily with it in my front jeans pocket, can go up/down stairs,
fits in my top pocket of my leather jacket, etc).   If you have really
    tight pants then it’s probably a no-go.

It’s more a tablet than a phone, imho.  You wouldn’t want to use this
with one hand, and holding it will suck if you have small hands.

Any clues on availability or pricing?
