SmartShell vs PixelSkin vs Otter Box
A few days after I got my swanky iPad2, I realized the horrible truth that I needed to get a half-decent cover for it. In between me leaving it in my laptop back, cradling on the sofa, propping it up when cooking, and listening to music in the garden, it was already going through some rather hairy situations. Luckily for me, three very different iPad2 cases came winging my way for review, and I couldn’t wait to try them out.
The first case that I slipped (or rather snapped) onto my iPad 2 was the SmartShell from Speck. This lightweight cover is great if you’ve already got a Smart Cover for your iPad2, as the Smart Shell only provides protection for the back of the iPad 2. I hardly noticed the difference when holding my iPad 2 with the SmartShell on, which was great as I didn’t want to add any extra bulk or weight to my iPad 2. Just two simple snaps and the SmartShell latched on and snapped off without any problem at all. The SmartShell is also very smooth and comfortable to grasp, making it a perfect compliment to your Smart Cover.
Likes: Easy to install, lightweight, smooth finish.
Dislikes: Only provides protection for rear of the iPad2.
