Sense UI makes an appearance on Honeycomb

At the Qualcomm iQ2011 in Istanbul, I managed to get a quick look at HTC’s upcoming 10.1″ Flyer tablet. We have already reviewed the 7″ version but what makes the 10.1″ different is that it is running on the tablet version of Android AKA Honeycomb and not the Smartphone version, which was one of the things we didn’t like about the 7″ Flyer.

Also new is the integration of Sense UI which certainly adds a lot of flare to the stock Honeycomb as you will see in the video below. We have seem Samsung customize Honeycomb with their Touchwiz UI which I personally am not a fan off but Sense UI is certainly looking very good. On the hardware side, this is the first Honeycomb tablet that I have seen running anything other than the NVIDIA Tegra and from the looks of it, the 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm SoC present inside the Flyer 10.1″ makes it noticeably faster in everyday operations but we’ll have to wait for an actual review unit to say that for sure. Enjoy the video.

No word on when the unit will be available in the UAE but we will keep you updated.
