The first thing I noticed about the Dubai Mall branch of Sharaf DG is that everything was sort of in-my-face. Even from the outside of the store I could see laptops and mobiles up front with tons of other electronics in between closely packed aisles. The TVs and other home goods were in the background, but overall the store felt very congested.
They had tons of people walking around the store, which ironically added to the overall crowdedness of the store. Pretty much everyone seemed to know where everything was, not a surprise really, and most of the people knew about their category of products pretty well.
Needless to say that Sharaf DG’s reputation is well earned, and they had everything I had on my list in stock.
I have been to many Sharaf DG branches; my most frequented one being the Ibn Battuta branch which is much larger than the Dubai Mall branch and also has a very cool, white atmosphere to it. This branch though, as I said above, seemed very cramped with too many products on display to close to each other. This, coupled with all the special offer boards, multiple staff members and other customers gave the atmosphere of a Friday Market. Everything felt rushed, and as a buying customer I don’t think I would have found a place to just relax and make an informed and peaceful decision.
