OS said to be targeted towards less powerful devices.

If you thought Microsoft would be satisfied to leave their latest OS (Mango) out in the market for a while, think again. Latest rumours featured in Engadget claim that the folks over at the Windows Phone home base are working on a new OS named ‘Tango’

The new OS is said to be tailored towards lower end phones and will definitely aid in Nokia trying to bring a lower end range of Windows Phones into the market. The rumours go on to say that the Asian market will be targeted “Largely or Exclusively” by the new OS.

The rumours also seem to be hinting towards a Windows Phone world in which there is a two-tiered Windows Phone platform with the more expensive Windows Phone devices running Mango, and the lower end ones running Tango.

One thing’s for sure though. The folks who run the Tango video calling service wont be too happy about this latest name choice by windows.
